Was den Rabatt ersetzt

(So nutzen Sie Social Proof in Browse-Abandonment-E-Mails.)
  • Hilfsbereitschaft.

Kein Code. (Was sollte eine Browse-Abandonment-E-Mail sagen.)
  4. Warten Sie ~einen Tag.

Kako ustvariti avtomatizacijo zapuščenega ogleda brez popustov

Namesto tega brskalce povrnete z ustreznostjo in pomirjanjem: pravi izdelek, znova prikazan ob pravem trenutku, z majhnim razlogom za zaupanje in enim enostavnim potem nazaj. Ta članek razgrne celoten tok brez popustov, vzvode, ki nadomestijo kupon, in kako dokazati, da deluje.

Zakaj so popusti napačno orodje na stopnji ogleda

Pomislite, s kom govorite.

  1. Sprožilec: prepoznan stik si ogleda izdelek, ničesar ne doda v košarico, ne opravi nakupa.
  2. Počakajte ~2–4 ure (krajše za impulzivne, dlje za visoko vrednost), s stražo za tihe ure.
  3. Email ena — opomnik. Natanko ogledani izdelek, slika, cena, ena povezava nazaj, topla vrstica “samo gledate?”, eno majhno pomirjanje. Brez kode. (Kaj naj pove email za zapuščen ogled.)
  4. Počakajte ~dan.
  5. Email dve (neobvezno) — razširi in pomiri. Ogledani izdelek znova, plus dva ali trije sorodni ali priljubljeni artikli in kos družbenega dokaza ali koristen vir. Še vedno brez kode.

Kje to prihrani resničen denar

(Številke so ponazoritvene.) Tok brez popustov to maržo ohrani v trgovini.

Kako to izmeriti iskreno

How to Build a Browse Abandonment Flow Without Discounts

You build a browse abandonment flow without discounts by replacing the coupon with three other conversion levers: reminding the visitor of the exact product they viewed, answering the objection that likely stopped them (price justification, sizing, shipping, returns), and adding proof that other buyers made the same decision happily. One or two emails, sent 2 to 24 hours after the browse session, no code in sight. It converts less aggressively than a coupon in the short term, but it protects your margin and doesn’t train visitors to wait for a deal every time they open a product page.

Here’s how to build it step by step, and where the revenue actually comes from.

Why “just add a 10% code” quietly gets expensive

If you’re running a store doing €20,000 to €100,000 a month, you already feel the squeeze from both sides. Meta and Google CPMs keep creeping up, so every visitor costs more than last year. And the default advice for every automation — abandoned cart, browse abandonment, win-back — is the same: attach a discount.

The math is uncomfortable. Say your average order is €70 and your gross margin is 40%, so €28 per order. A 10% code costs €7, a quarter of your margin on that sale. If your browse abandonment flow sends 2,000 emails a month and generates 60 orders, and half of those buyers would have purchased anyway (a very common pattern with warm visitors), you’re handing back €210 a month to people who didn’t need convincing. Those numbers are illustrative, but plug in your own and the shape holds.

Worse is the behavioral side effect. Browse abandonment reaches people earlier in the decision than cart abandonment — they looked, they didn’t even add to cart. Discounting at that stage teaches your most engaged subscribers: view a product, wait a day, collect a coupon. You end up discounting the exact segment that needed it least.

What actually stops someone who viewed but didn’t add to cart

A visitor who spent 40 seconds on your product page and left rarely left because of price alone. Usually it’s one of these:

  • Uncertainty — wrong size? will it fit their use case? is the material good?
  • Friction they anticipated — shipping cost, delivery time, returns hassle.
  • Comparison mode — they have four tabs open and yours was tab two.
  • Simple interruption — the kid cried, the tram arrived, lunch break ended.

A discount only addresses comparison mode, and bluntly. The other three are better solved with information: a reminder, an answer, a reason to trust you. That’s the whole design principle of a no-discount flow. If you’re still deciding whether this flow is worth building before cart abandonment, this comparison of the two flows covers the order of operations.

The build, in order

  1. First, confirm you can track browsing. Browse abandonment only fires for identified visitors — people who subscribed or clicked through a previous email so a cookie connects them. If your list is small, fix signup first; a flow with 50 eligible people a month won’t teach you anything.
  2. Write email one before touching any flow builder. Subject line that names the product or category, the product image and price, one or two sentences of value (“why people buy this”), a clear link back. No coupon block to design means this takes 30 minutes.
  3. Set the trigger and delay. Trigger: viewed a product page, did not add to cart, did not purchase, within the same day. Delay: 2 to 6 hours works for most stores; the timing question deserves its own answer if you sell high-consideration products.
  4. Add email two only after email one has run for two weeks. Email two goes out 24 to 48 hours later, only to people who clicked nothing, and it carries the objection-handling content: reviews, shipping and returns terms, a size guide, a comparison to a similar product.
  5. Skip for now: SMS, push, three-plus email sequences, dynamic recommendations. Get two emails converting first.

The exact automation spec

“Set up a browse abandonment flow” is useless advice, so here’s the full specification you can copy:

  • Trigger: product page viewed by an identified contact, with no add-to-cart event and no order in the following 2 hours.
  • Segment/filters: exclude anyone with a purchase in the last 14 days, anyone currently in the abandoned cart flow, and anyone who entered this flow in the last 7 days (frequency cap — over-sending is the fastest way to kill this flow).
  • Email 1 — delay 2 to 6 hours. Channel: email. Content: the viewed product with image and price, one benefit-focused line, link to the product. Subject: “Still thinking about the
    ?” Goal: recover interrupted sessions.
  • Email 2 — delay 24 to 48 hours after email 1, only if no click. Content: two or three customer reviews of that product or category, your shipping and returns terms in one plain sentence each, link again. Goal: resolve the objection. What each message should actually say is covered in more depth in this guide to browse abandonment copy.
  • Exit conditions: contact adds to cart (hand off to cart flow), purchases, or unsubscribes.

An illustrative month with real-shaped numbers

These numbers are invented for illustration — use them as a template, not a benchmark. A store gets 25,000 sessions a month; 20% of visitors are identified, and a quarter of those view a product without adding to cart. That’s 1,250 flow entries. If 45% open email one and 1.5% of all recipients end up ordering at a €70 average order, the flow produces roughly 19 orders and €1,330 a month — with zero discount cost and maybe three hours of setup. The same flow with a 10% code might produce a few more orders but gives back around €130 in margin monthly, forever, and shifts future full-price buyers toward waiting.

Four numbers that tell you if it’s working

  • Revenue per recipient — the cleanest single metric; compare email one against email two.
  • Placed-order rate per email — orders divided by delivered messages.
  • Click rate on email two — if the objection-handling email gets opens but no clicks, your reviews or shipping terms aren’t answering the real objection.
  • Unsubscribe rate from the flow — above roughly half a percent per send, revisit your filters and frequency cap.

Building it in Omnisend

I ignored email automation for years — it read as spam with extra steps. Rising ad costs on my own stores forced a rethink, and after testing both Klaviyo and Omnisend I settled on Omnisend because I could build and adjust flows myself without a consultant. For this specific flow, its prebuilt browse abandonment workflow already contains the trigger and product-block layout, so the work is editing copy, setting the 2-to-6-hour delay, and adding the exclusion filters (recent purchasers, cart flow members) in the audience conditions. One honest caveat: Omnisend can only trigger on identified visitors like every other tool, and if your product data feed is messy the product block will show wrong images or prices — clean that first.

Your next step

Before building anything, check one number: how many identified visitors viewed a product without adding to cart in the last 30 days. If it’s over a few hundred, build email one this week — just the reminder, no coupon — and let it run for two weeks before you judge it.
