Gledali so.

  3. Ena jasna povezava nazaj do strani izdelka.

Ni ponudbe in običajno ni pravega pomanjkanja.
  • Brez zidu besedila. Več ko napišete, manj ljudi doseže gumb. To je spodbuda, ne prodajni nagovor.

Brez naglice, a tukaj je spet, če vam je še vedno v mislih:

Vprašanja o velikosti ali vodoodpornosti? Kar odgovorite — te sporočila bere pravi človek.

Poglejte, kaj počne: poimenuje in slika točno tisti izdelek, ena jasna povezava, iskren in lahkoten namig o priljubljenosti, pristno zagotovilo o vračilih in povabilo k odgovoru.

Mehko, relevantno in iskreno naredi oboje. Prodajno in nujno ne naredi ne enega ne drugega.

Kaj avtomatizirati okoli besedila

Kako vam Omnisend pomaga

What Should a Browse Abandonment Email Say

A browse abandonment email should say three things: here’s the product you were looking at (photo, name, price, direct link), here’s something useful about it (the answer to the question that most often stalls buyers — sizing, shipping, materials), and here are two or three alternatives in case that one wasn’t quite right. One call to action, back to the product page. No discount, no guilt, no pretending the email is a coincidence. The tone that works is a good shop assistant’s: “you were looking at this — anything I can help with?” Below is the full anatomy, subject lines that don’t feel like surveillance, what to leave out, and a worked example you can adapt.

The email everyone deletes, and why yours can’t be it

You’ve received the bad version yourself: “We saw you looking! 👀” with a giant product image and a 10% code. It’s the email equivalent of a shop assistant following you to the parking lot. As a store owner you’re stuck between two fears — sounding creepy if you reference the browsing, sounding generic if you don’t. So a lot of merchants ship a limp compromise: a vague “check out what’s new” email that references nothing and converts nothing, or they skip the flow entirely and let thousands of warm product viewers walk.

Meanwhile every one of those viewers cost you real money to acquire. The copy in this one email decides whether that flow pays back ad spend or quietly burns list goodwill.

Why a discount is the wrong crutch

The reflex fix for weak copy is a coupon. It works in the dashboard — codes get redeemed — but look at who redeems them: people who viewed a product hours ago and were plausibly going to buy anyway. You’re paying 10% margin for orders you’d have gotten at full price, and you’re teaching attentive shoppers that browsing without buying summons a coupon. On a store doing €50,000 a month, routinely giving 10% to browse abandoners can quietly cost hundreds of euros of margin monthly (illustrative — check your own redemption numbers). Good copy does the same recovery job for free; if you want the full no-coupon playbook, see building a browse abandonment flow without discounts.

The anatomy, top to bottom

Subject line: name the product, not the behavior

“Still thinking about the Loden wool overshirt?” beats “You left something behind!” — the first sounds like a colleague, the second like a tracking pixel. Safe patterns: “Still thinking about ?”, “[Product] — a closer look”, “Questions about the ?”. Avoid “we noticed”, “we saw you”, and anything with an eye emoji. Keep it under about 50 characters so mobile doesn’t truncate the product name.

Opening line: acknowledge lightly, move on fast

One sentence, no drama: “You were checking out the Loden overshirt earlier — here it is again, plus a couple of things people usually ask.” That’s the whole acknowledgment. Don’t explain how you know, don’t apologize for emailing.

Product block: the viewed item, rendered properly

Large image, product name, price, and a button straight to the product page — not the homepage, not the category. If your platform supports dynamic content, this block fills itself from the tracked view. If the visitor viewed several items, show the last or most-viewed one, not a grid of everything they touched.

One useful thing: answer the stalling question

This is what separates a helpful email from a nag. Pull the most common pre-purchase question for that product or category — from your support inbox, chat logs, or product page FAQ — and answer it in one or two lines: “Runs true to size; most customers take their usual.” “Ships from our EU warehouse — 2–3 days, free returns for 30.” A line of social proof works here too, like a short customer quote or review count; using social proof in browse abandonment emails covers how to do it without padding.

Alternatives: two or three, not ten

Maybe the viewed product wasn’t quite it — wrong color, wrong price point. Two or three related items catch that shopper without turning the email into a catalog. Same category, spread of prices. How you pick these matters more than most merchants think; product recommendations in browse abandonment emails goes deeper.

What to leave out

  • Discount codes — save margin, and save the coupon for flows where it’s earned.
  • Urgency theatre — fake countdowns and “almost gone!” on fully stocked items destroy trust with exactly the observant shoppers this flow reaches. Real low-stock data is fine; invented scarcity isn’t.
  • A second CTA to your sale page, your Instagram, your blog. One email, one job.
  • Guilt copy — “You forgot something!” is false (they didn’t cart anything) and whiny.

A worked example

Illustrative store: sells cast-iron cookware, average order €85. A subscriber views the 28 cm skillet (€79) and leaves. Three hours later:

Subject: “Still thinking about the 28 cm skillet?”

Body: “You were looking at our 28 cm cast-iron skillet earlier — here it is again. The question we get most: yes, it works on induction, and it arrives pre-seasoned, so you can cook the day it lands. [Product image, €79, button: View the skillet] If the 28 cm is more pan than you need, the 24 cm (€64) fits two-person cooking, and the grill pan (€89) is the pick for steak. — Anna, [store name]”

Under 90 words of actual copy. It acknowledges once, answers the induction question that stalls half their cookware buyers, and offers a smaller and a specialized alternative. No coupon anywhere. If your catalog spans very different categories, the “useful thing” should change per category — personalizing browse abandonment emails by category shows how to branch it.

How to know the copy works

  • Click-to-open rate — the copy metric. Opens test the subject; clicks test the body. High opens with low clicks means the body isn’t giving a reason to return.
  • Revenue per recipient — the business metric; compare before and after any copy change.
  • Conversion rate of clickers — if people click but don’t buy, the problem has moved to the product page, not the email.
  • Unsubscribe rate on the flow — creepy or pushy copy shows up here first.

Writing this in Omnisend

For years I dismissed marketing emails as spam — which turned out to be useful, because now I write flow emails to pass my own filter: would past-me delete this? That standard, applied in Omnisend (which I chose over Klaviyo for my own stores — easier to self-manage, better price), shapes every browse abandonment email I run.

Mechanically, Omnisend’s browse abandonment email template includes a dynamic “viewed product” block and a product recommender block for the alternatives, so the structure above is assembly rather than coding. The honest limits: dynamic blocks depend on a correctly synced product feed (wrong images or prices in the feed mean wrong emails), the flow reaches only identified subscribers, and the best copy in the world won’t sell a product whose page hides shipping costs until checkout.

Your next step

Send yourself a test of your current browse abandonment email and read it as a customer. If it contains a discount, an eye emoji, or zero useful information about the product, rewrite it against the anatomy above — it’s an hour’s work. And if you’re unsure whether one email like this is enough, how many browse abandonment emails to send settles the sequencing question.
